HitsLink Hits Back – a hit counter solution

HitsLink is a basic web analytics solution with a price tag of a hit counter. HitsLink offers an easy-to-use and easy to understand visitor analysis.

The Enterprise edition offers e-commerce capabilities to your analytics. For example, if you want to know how your keywords are performing in a campaign, simply select the “By Search Term” report in the Activity menu. You may also select “By Search Engine” and “Search Term “to view your keywords by search engine.
HitsLink does offer a general return on investment (ROI) calculator for each campaign that you are running. It does not however give you an ROI tracking tool to track the success of every keyword.

HitsLink is a low cost alternative to other ad tracking software available and is respectable software for a beginner or small to medium sized business owner new to on-line advertising.

HitsLink also offers a unique click fraud prevention and detection system. Click fraud is detected with HitsLink with a different application that is not seen in other click fraud prevention programs. Its first line of defense is through an IP address; if the same IP address clicks on your ad more then once it will be watched. HitsLink also detects click fraud through the domain name, an application many click fraud detection services do not offer. HitsLink also detects click fraud if through geographic location and cookies like other high-end applications.

HitsLink will send alerts to your e-mail if click fraud is detected. You may also set the sensitivity level for detection along. Its major disadvantage - HitsLink does not offer the ability to compile a report for each search engine which makes asking for a refund through you search engine impossible. This is an important tool featured in high-end programs; without it, we feel that it is a major weakness in HitsLink and significantly lowers the value of what the application can return to you in value.

HitsLink offers free training, phone and e-mail support, an online knowledge base and FAQs, As HitsLink is owned by Net Applications, the product is from a stable and reliable company. Net Applications owns several other products that make money causing the company to be diversified in their income streams. Hitslink makes our Top 3 List with Adwatcher and ClickTracks.

Our Rating: A-; Could make it to an A or A+ status if it would create a reporting feature.

Love it for myspace -- and love the ability to hide my profile for a low price. Recommending corporate version for my employer. Excellent customer support when needed.

Well, it will make more sense if I want to see whos looking on my page if theres a specific name on it, not just a code number where I can`t guess who is it in a first place. Thats why I want to have a tracker to see specifically whos is my "visitor" in my homepage.
